Penguins overwhelm Lightning to take 2-1 series lead

Pittsburgh’s 3-2 win on Monday deadlocked the series at a game apiece, revitalizing the Penguins’ odds on the National Hockey League series prices, which have climbed to a solid -195 ahead of Wednesday night’s Penguins vs. Will the Penguins put Tampa Bay on ice or will the Lightning leave Pittsburgh shocked?

Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy (88), of Russian Federation, stops a shot on goal by Pittsburgh Penguins left wing Chris Kunitz (14) during the first period of Game 3 of the NHL hockey Stanley Cup Eastern Conference finals Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in Tampa, Fla. Vasilevskiy played brilliantly at times while filling in for injured starter Ben Bishop, making 38 stops in Monday nights game.

“It doesn’t matter who was in net”, Cooper said.

Shots on goal can be a harmless statistic unless you putting up the volume of shots the Pittsburgh Penguins are producing.

Who do you want to win this game, HollywoodLifers? “These are two good teams – that’s a team with a lot of playoff experience and we’re going to expect their best Friday”. We’re dedicating a section in our recaps to the gems of his Twitter account during the playoffs. His star power has faded the past couple of regular seasons thanks to declining numbers with the Toronto Maple Leafs and in his first year with the Penguins, but it’s on the rise again with an incredible postseason that has him leading the Pens in both goals (seven) and points (16) through 14 games so far.

The Penguins now lead this matchup 2-1 and find themselves just two victories away from the franchise’s first berth in the Stanley Cup final since 2009.

Jonathan Drouin poses for a photo with Tampa Bay Lightning team executives right after he was selected as the third overall pick of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. “We played really well”.

When the game was scoreless midway through the 2nd period, the first lethal mistake made could come back to bite.

“We were just playing around!” said Rugh, who designed the shirt after seeing news of the arena’s dress code on social media. Jacoby Ellsbury added to the win by going 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

At the same point in the game the Lightning had 10.

The Penguins are 12-3 in their last 15 road games and 2-5 in their last 7 Conference Finals games.

What’s clear heading into Friday’s Game 4 in Tampa is that the series could be short unless the Lightning do a better job of possessing the puck and increasing their shots on goal.

Murray would allow the Lightning to knot matters at two on a pair of soft goals by notorious Penguins-killer Anton Stralman (in his first action in almost two months after suffering a broken leg), and rookie phenom Jonathan Drouin.
