CBS Radio has confirmed that iconic actress and socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor has died at the age of 99. The actress was known for her revolving-door marriages, and her glamor personality. But this weekend Zsa Zsa Gabor passed away just short of reaching the age of 100. She was 99, and had been in poor health since falling and breaking her hip in 2010.
Born in Hungary, Gabor’s acting career began on the stage in Vienna before she moved to America.

“Whoever you are, Mrs. Rockefeller or Mrs. Smith, you have only one life to live”, she added.
“If you like a man and he likes you, you should get married as fast as you can”. You mean apart from my own? ”There’s no better money to spend than your own.”The only place men want depth in a woman is in her decolletage.”To a smart girl men are no problem – they’re the answer.”I pay all my own bills.
When asked about her housekeeping, she once quipped: “I am a marvellous housekeeper”.
If all this has a faint touch of the ridiculous, she didn’t seem to mind too much.
Aside from Hilton, Gabor’s other husbands included a Turkish diplomat, the actor George Sanders, an industrialist, an oil magnate, a toy designer, a divorce lawyer and a man referred to as the “Duke of Saxony” in the press.
In 1989, Gabor generated a media sensation when she was convicted of slapping a Beverly Hills policeman.
In her last few years, her husband Frederic Prinz Von Anhalt held birthday parties for her but visitors were not allowed in her bedroom because she was so sick. Zsa Zsa’s younger sister, Eva, had an interior design store on East Palm Canyon Drive and was the regular companion of entertainment mogul Merv Griffin until her death in 1995.
In 2002, Gabor was badly injured in a vehicle crash that made her a wheelchair user for the remainder of her life, leading to a serious decline in her health.
She also had a part as a carny performer in the wistful romance “Lili”, starring Mel Ferrer and the charming Leslie Caron, which would one day become the Broadway musical “Carnival”. And in 2002, she was partially paralyzed after a bad vehicle accident, and she later suffered a stroke in 2005. Just this past February, she was rushed to the hospital after having trouble breathing. With the help of von Anhalt, she returned home to prepare for the surgery to replace the tube in March.
He also addressed his relationship with Hilton, saying, “I didn’t get along with her, but my wife loved her”. Her mother did it but she never did it.
The Hungarian prima donna was not without losses herself; her daughter died on January 5, 2015, from a massive stroke. After initially calling for an investigation into her death, alluding that she had committed suicide, authorities ordered an autopsy and did not allow her stepfather to claim the body.
“Everybody was there. She didn’t die alone”, he told AFP by telephone.
