Galaxy S8 fingerprint sensor was moved in “last minute” change

The Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930W8) arrives as firmware version G930W8VLU2BQB6 while for the Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935W8) it arrives as version G935W8VLU2BQB6. Devices are cross-compatible between the two countries, and with the small size of Canada’s population vs the USA, it’s easy to satisfy demand for both countries at the same time.

Images downloaded and located within the APK seem to depict and represent the Galaxy S8 as the device in the screenshots of the launcher look quite like the leaks we’ve seen thus far.

Samsung has committed to providing monthly security updates for unlocked Galaxy smartphones in the United States, according to ZDNet.

Registering your interest for the S8 over on the site brings up a screen where users can select some of the features they want to see in the next Galaxy – though, there’s no specific specs given.

As for the rumored specs of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, the larger device is expected to sport a 6.2-inch display, while the standard Galaxy S8 will have a 5.8-inch display. Patently Apple posted a report back in October noting that Samsung was going to eliminate the traditional home button and place a fingerprint scanner on the back of the display to match Apple’s feature for iPhone 8. The partner company, with whom Samsung developed the on-screen fingerprint sensor was not able to deliver on time.

Since there is no official confirmation take these details with a pinch of salt.

With Samsung’s new Galaxy S8 launch just a couple of weeks away it appears there’s never been a better time to buy last year’s Galaxy S7 Edge. They will be available in Silver, Black, Matte Black, Gold, Blue, and Pink color options.

On the other hand, the Lenovo P2 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 under the hood, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage, a microSD slot, a 13-MP main camera, but is not water or dust proof.

As for LG, market analysts said if its favorable sales continue, it could bring a turnaround in the company’s mobile communications unit, which posted 1.3 trillion won ($1.1 billion) in operating loss previous year.

The news of this latest offer follows a rival deal from Tesco Mobile. For more details and support, visit the developer’s XDA thread.
